LA Speaks Out and Jacquie Stephens thanks the brothas
of the community for coming out to our citywide conversation on
Men’s Health. In 22 barbershops from Compton to Wilshire,
brothas received valuable information on men’s health including
high blood pressure screenings, diabetes testing and more…
Much
has been made of the king drew hospital - closure of its trauma
unit and vital departments, reports of misdiagnosis and administrative
snafus, but the community stands strong to protect this vital institution
and KJLH is right in the mix...

Even if you do not have a college-aged child at home, please share
this with someone who does, pass this scholarship information on
to anyone and everyone that comes to mind. Though there are a number
of companies and organizations that have donated moneys for scholarship
use to African Americans, a great deal of the money is being returned
because of a lack of interest.
