Ms. Tanish: Known as Ms. Tanish this beauty blogger whose focus is natural hair has been natural for about 12 years now. Here is the story she shared with KJLH about her natural hair journey: “My hair story isn’t traditional. I wasn’t inspired by anyone to go natural, I didn’t big chop, I didn’t even know what a twistout was back in 2002. There wasn’t a natural hair community for me to turn to. We didn’t have all this hair terminology that we have now such as big chop, twistout, transition, cowash, braidout, tension free blowout, prepoo, and etc. I just simply made the decision to stop relaxing. I had no plans to big chop because at the time, that word didn’t exist. I just became so intrigued with my new growth after about 8 months of not relaxing, that I wanted to see what my texture was like without those straggly ends. Although I have been natural for 12 years, I learned everything about natural hair in 2009 after discovering YouTube. I was so excited about this new world that I decided to start my own channel to document my natural hair journey for other naturals to see. And that is where MsTanish1 emerged.”
We love this story and love what Ms. Tanish is doing for her own natural hair community of followers on You Tube. Ms. Tanish will be joining the conversation as a guest speaker at the Natural Hair & Beauty Expo!
