What Is Covered California?
Covered California is the state’s health insurance marketplace, established under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. It connects individuals and families with health plans and financial assistance. Covered California is designed for people who do not receive health insurance through an employer, including:
- Gig workers and freelancers
- Entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals
- People turning 26 who are aging out of a parent’s health plan.
