Lil Wayne hosting ‘The Joint Venture’ podcast with pal Craig Carton

Lil Wayne is teaming up with sports media personality Craig Carton for a new podcast titled The Joint Venture.

The pair will record two episodes live Tuesday night at New York’s Gotham Comedy Club, giving fans a glimpse of their different personalities and their friendship “built on a shared love of sports, music, half-baked takes and conversation,” according to the club’s website.

Craig also teased the event in an Instagram post, promising “a bunch of awesome special guests.”

“Make sure you check it out, and make sure you start paying attention,” he said.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The Joint Venture is set to premiere July 22, according to Deadline. The podcast will feature Wayne and Craig discussing sports, music, entertainment and pop culture.

“The best podcasts feel like you just kicking it with your people, talking the same way you do when nobody’s listening,” Wayne said in a statement, per Deadline. “Ima light one up with the homie Craig and we gonna talk our s*** about whatever the day brings. You never know who’s gonna pull up or where the conversation’s gonna go.”

“There’s nothing better than swapping takes with Wayne on sports, pop culture and a whole host of other topics,” Craig added. “The Joint Venture Show gives us a great excuse to keep doing what we’ve been doing for years, while also having some famous friends stop by and chop it up with us. There’s no better job in the world.”

The duo’s Gotham Comedy Club taping follows their live recording at Fanatics Fest on Sunday.

Lil Wayne previously worked with Apple Music as a host on the podcast Young Money Radio.

Masego releases new album, ‘Fix Your Face’

Masego releases new album, ‘Fix Your Face’

Masego has turned a familiar saying into the title of his brand-new album.

According to a press release, Fix Your Face is something mothers say “when they expect their kids to immediately tighten up and stop the tears.” The title also reflects Masego’s current “approach to life, no matter what comes at me.”

Fix Your Face has been three years in the making and was deeply influenced by his “scholastic level of research,” during which he studied artists’ vulnerability and embraced writing over freestyling, the press release explains.

The result is a 16-track project that, according to the release, is Masego’s “most personal work to date.” The album finds him being vulnerable, reflective and emotionally honest as he embarks on the road to self-discovery. It’s also rooted in his Jamaican heritage and faith, bridging his roots with where he’s headed.

Masego worked alongside co-producer Jordan Elgie for the album and enlisted Buju Banton, Keyshia Cole, Leon Thomas and Musiq Soulchild for guest appearances.

He’s set to tour the world in support of Fix Your Face beginning in August.

B2K releases first single in more than 20 years, ‘Mileage’

B2K releases first single in more than 20 years, ‘Mileage’

Fans have recently seen B2K reunite on tour, but now the group is back with its first single in more than two decades. “Mileage” arrives exactly 25 years after the group’s debut single, “Uh Huh.”

The song finds Omarion, Lil’ Fizz, J-Boog and Raz-B expressing their desire to look beyond a partner’s past and the emotional baggage from previous relationships, choosing instead to make the best of the moment.

The song’s accompanying music video is set on a rooftop and warehouse in LA, capturing the members performing their solo verses before coming together for singing and choreography. A speedometer and headlights appear throughout, reinforcing the “mileage” theme.

“We’ve shared so many moments together over the years, but being back in the studio creating new music has been something truly special,” B2K said in a statement. “Mileage is just the beginning, and we’re excited to finally start sharing this next chapter with our fans.”

The song is the lead single for an upcoming album that is set to release sometime in the fall.
